Over the Hill on Nintendo Switch 2
Checked 17 October 2026. Updated 2026-10-17.
I went looking for a Switch build on 16 October 2026 and only found Switch 2, dated 2027. The original Switch is not in the announcement. There is still no eShop page I can link, and no price.
Switch 2, not Switch 1
The 28 October 2025 console announcement and the 10 August 2026 release-date post name Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, all for 2027. They do not name the original Nintendo Switch.
At announcement the eShop pre-purchase was described as coming soon. No verified eShop checkout URL or price is supplied here; that evidence gap is not a claim that no listing exists.
Physical editions
Serenity Forge is producing physical editions for Switch 2 and PS5. The press release describes a Premium Standard Edition (physical game, window cling, digital soundtrack) and a Collector's Edition (physical game, window cling, rocking dashboard standee, embroidered patch, lanyard keychain, winched collar pin, vehicle poster).
Retail package descriptions may differ from the announcement. This page uses the press-release contents and does not add items from a retail writeup without a verified direct citation.
Questions
Can I play Over the Hill on the original Switch?
No original Switch version has been announced. The named Nintendo platform is Switch 2, in 2027.
Is there a handheld way to play before 2027?
Steam Deck is rated Verified in Valve’s 17 October 2026 report. The Over the Hill port for Switch 2, not the Switch 2 hardware itself, is planned for 2027.
