Over the Hill vs SnowRunner
Checked 17 October 2026. Updated 2026-10-17.
SnowRunner was cheaper in the US Steam check on 17 October 2026: $11.99 after 60 percent off its $29.99 list price. Over the Hill was $19.99 after 20 percent off $24.99. A launch discount does not automatically make the newer game the budget option.

What I can check
US prices checked 17 October 2026: Over the Hill $24.99 list, $19.99 on sale; SnowRunner $29.99 list, $11.99 on sale. Release dates differ too: Over the Hill launched 14 October 2026, while SnowRunner dates to 2020. Steam describes Over the Hill as playable at your own pace and without timed input; SnowRunner’s store description emphasizes contracts and cargo.
Fleet: Over the Hill unlocks trucks through objectives, and Funselektor has not published a count. I will not say it has fewer vehicles than SnowRunner as a number. SnowRunner’s reputation for a large licensed roster is the genre’s common knowledge, and I am not attaching a vehicle total I did not count.
Who should buy which
Our editorial recommendation: choose SnowRunner for cargo contracts and truck recovery; choose Over the Hill for a calmer exploration session with up to four-player online co-op. Do not choose on the assumption that Over the Hill is cheaper: the current US sale snapshot favors SnowRunner. Co-op details are on multiplayer.
The art is part of the decision. Official Over the Hill shots are low-poly and pastoral. SnowRunner’s store art is the photoreal recovery sim. Look at both capsules before you trust a paragraph. More neighbours are on games like this.
